  14.    We consider AccessNet to be the friendliest netmail network around!  In order
  15. to maintain our friendly and helpful atmosphere, it is necessary to have some
  16. rules or guidelines.  These guidelines are meant to be just that - guidelines.
  17. This is too friendly a network for major quibbling.  <smile>

  23.  ■  All of the AccessNet "core" conferences must be carried by ALL
  24.     participating Nodes.

  26.  ■  There are two RoseNet conferences (see ACCESSNT.LST) that are
  27.     mandatory:  The RoseMail and RoseReader support conferences.  Please
  28.     note that only those using RoseMail to transfer their mail are
  29.     required to carry the two.

  35.  ■  All AccessNet SysOps are required to read the AccessNet Administration
  36.     conference.

  42.  ■  All AccessNet SysOps are strongly encouraged to enforce proper
  43.     'quoting' of messages.  Quoting of entire messages is not only
  44.     sloppy, but is a burden to those who are paying the phone bill.

  46.  ■  When replying to messages - People should strongly consider the
  47.     TOPIC of their reply.  Too many netmail networks (including this one
  48.     at times) have lengthy message threads that do not have any actual
  49.     continuity.

  51.  ■  When posting a new message - People should consider the MOST
  52.     appropriate conference for the topic of their discussion.  When
  53.     people enter messages in the wrong conference it causes misplaced
  54.     threads.  Not everyone has every conference in their message queue.
  55.     As a result a user who may want to read a message about modems, for
  56.     example, may never read that ONE all important message because it
  57.     was entered in a wrong conference.  This should be avoided at all
  58.     times.

  60.  ■  BBS ads should not exceed one per week for any bulletin board.   BBS
  61.     ads belong in the BBS conference.

  67.  ■  It is AccessNet's understanding that each Node SysOp is responsible
  68.     for the names used on his/her own BBS.

  74.  ■  There Should not be more than 3 tag lines within any message (one of
  75.     these tag lines must be the required AccessNet Node tag line).
  76.     Tasteless tag lines are discouraged.  More than 3 tag lines is
  77.     considered discourteous to those Node SysOps having to transfer mail
  78.     long distance.

  80.  ■  ALL Nodes & Hubs must have the proper AccessNet tagline setup in
  81.     their respective software.

  103.  ■  All Nodes must transfer mail at least once per day. By transferring
  104.     your mail each day, your users will benefit from the increased
  105.     response they will gain.  It is imperative that ALL SysOps in
  106.     AccessNet understand that the quality of our network is based on
  107.     how often mail is transferred.   When a Node does not transfer
  108.     often, users tend to become discouraged with the message base.   It
  109.     is understood that Murphy's law effects ALL SysOps - when there is a
  110.     problem, it is the responsibility of the Node SysOp to contact their
  111.     supporting Hub.

  114. ││ Internet / UseNet ││

  117.  ■  Those picking up UseNet newsgroups are required to pay their Hub
  118.     every six months (in advance) for the service.  See USENET.$$$ for
  119.     billing information.

  125.  ■  Hub SysOps are responsible for ensuring that their Nodes follow our
  126.     guidelines.

  133.  ■  AccessNet hosts have one major responsibility, to generate traffic in
  134.     their conference.  To become a host you must meet the following
  135.     criteria:

  137.        ■  You must be an AccessNet SysOp for at least 6 months.
  138.        ■  Follow the Specific host guidelines, as provided by the Nav
  139.           Team.

  142. ││ Vacationing SysOps ││

  145.  ■  It is understood that SysOps take vacations.  AccessNet requests
  146.     that a vacationing SysOp delegate to another responsible SysOp the
  147.     ability to monitor the BBS in his/her absence.  In the event that a
  148.     Node does not transfer mail within 3 consecutive days, the Hub SysOp
  149.     may decline to hold mail until the Node SysOp has contacted him/her.
  150.     It is also understood that callers may commit 'violations' of
  151.     AccessNet's guidelines in the absence of a full time SysOp and that
  152.     immediate action may not be able to be taken by the appointed SysOp.

  158.  ■  In order to become an AccessNet Hub, you must have been transferring
  159.     mail for at least Six months with our network. Contact the Nav Team
  160.     for network for more details.

  166. │ component to either is responsible for anything.  All AccessNet SysOps  │
  167. │ are responsible for following local laws in regards to not allowing     │
  168. │ minors access to the adult conferences!   By applying to AccessNet you  │
  169. │ are in agreement that acceptance or rejection of your application will  │
  170. │ be at the sole discretion of the AccessNet Administrators.  If your     │
  171. │ application is accepted, you will be welcomed as a 'trial' member for   │
  172. │ six months.  It is understood that AccessNet Administrators reserve the │
  173. │ right to allow, disallow, include, or remove any active or non-active   │
  174. │ Node or applicant at anytime time and without any notice.  By becoming  │
  175. │ an AccessNet SysOp or applicant, you are agreeing to these terms.       │
